Laurie Dulaney, DVM, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Laurie Dulaney earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lamar University in Beaumont while also becoming a Certified Massage Therapist (for humans). She then attended Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine where she simultaneously earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science and her DVM degree. While at Texas A&M, Dr. Dulaney was founding member of the spay-neuter-release program, Aggie Feral Cat Alliance of Texas.
A True Texan, Dr. Dulaney was born and raised in a small town near Houston, and then permanently moved to Austin upon graduating from vet school in 2001. She practiced in north Austin for 14 years before joining the team at Firehouse Animal Health Center.
Her professional interests include wellness exams, senior pet care, and nutrition counseling for both dogs and cats, with particular interests in feline medicine, nutrition, and behavior. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), and Bat Conservation International.
Dr. Dulaney now resides in south Austin with her husband, dog, 3 cats, 2 parakeets, and a new 60-gallon aquarium of tropical fish! Her personal interests include hiking, biking, kayaking, caving, cooking, reading, and napping. In that order.
