Staci Hansen, DVM, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Staci Hansen grew up just down the road in Bastrop Texas. In high school she discovered her passion for animal care while volunteering as a kennel technician at a local veterinary clinic. In 2007 she graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor's degree in Biology/Pre-veterinary medicine. After completing an exciting internship at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center she was accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine located on the Island of St. Kitts. While completing her degree Dr. Hansen volunteered with VIDA to aid in animal overpopulation through spay and neuter clinics in Costa Rica.
Dr. Hansen completed her clinical year of Veterinary school at Kansas State University with externships completed at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and The Houston Zoo. After graduation in 2012 she returned to Austin and began working at Banfield Pet Hospital before accepting a position at Firehouse Animal Health Center. Her special interests include small animal surgery and exotic/pocket pet medicine.
In her spare time she enjoys traveling, volunteering at Austin Wildlife Rescue, and with Girl Scouts of Central Texas. Her favorite hobbies include baking and geocaching. Dr. Hansen and her husband share their home with three spoiled dogs, one lovable cat, and two adorable guinea pigs.
